Cache Creek

About Cache Creek

Nestled in the heart of nature, along the peaceful Bonaparte River and famous for its warm and welcoming hospitality, Cache Creek is a must-visit destination for travelers. Stop by for a delicious homemade meal and a cozy bed for the night or stay longer to explore the town’s charming parks, picturesque golf course and other exciting tourist attractions.

While Cache Creek first gained popularity as a supply point during the Gold Rush of the 1860s, the true origins of its name are shrouded in mystery. Legend has it that it could have come from the fur trade era, where valuable supplies were hidden or “cached” in the valley junction. Alternatively, the name could have been inspired by a stagecoach robbery that took place during the Gold Rush, where one of the bandits buried their stolen loot along the creek bed before succumbing to their injuries. To this day, the treasure remains undiscovered, adding a sense of adventure to Cache Creek’s already rich history.
